The Tea

This is a lemony, gingery brew with a bit of clout. It's a mighty mix of very zingy things (like lemongrass, ginger and tangy apple) that'll give your taste buds a bear hug and your senses a friendly thwack on the back. It's a proper tasty lemon and ginger tea.

Our Lemon & Ginger is naturally caffeine free.

Ingredients

Ginger, apple, sweet blackberry leaves, acid: citric acid, lemongrass, natural lemon-lime flavouring, natural lime flavouring, roasted chicory root, silver lime flowers, lemon peel, galangal.

The box

The box is made from cartonboard, which is made from trees – a renewable resource that can easily be replenished.

This goes in your paper and cardboard recycling.

The tea bags

75% of the tea bag material is natural-based fibres: a mix of wood pulp and either abaca (a kind of banana plant) or rayon (made from woodpulp). 25% is an oil-based plastic sealing material called polypropylene, but we plan to switch that to what we now use to seal most of our other tea bags - a renewable, plant-based, industrially compostable bioplastic called Polylactic Acid (PLA), which is made from cornstarch.

At the moment, these should go in your refuse bin.

The inner wrap

This is made from metallised polyethylene (an oil-based plastic). We'd like to change this packaging once we've changed the outer wrap on our other tea boxes (that’s a much higher overall volume of plastic, which is why we’re tackling that first).

This isn't currently recyclable, so it should go in your refuse bin.

what is Lemon & Ginger tea?

Lemon and ginger go together brilliantly in a tea. One's bright and sharp, the other's warming and fiery – and together they pack a zingy punch that gives your taste buds something to think about. They work really well with other ingredients too, which is why we include a spot of apple and a bit of lemongrass to bring a little softness, sweetness and extra tanginess to the taste.
